Description:
Nu Groove Records continues its essential edits series with Nu Groove Edits Vol. 5, a carefully curated collection of reworks celebrating the label’s deep-rooted legacy in New York house music. Featuring reinterpretations from leading contemporary selectors, this release revisits key moments from the catalogue that helped define the sound of underground house in the late 80s and early 90s.
Opening the EP, N.Y. House’n Authority – “Fort Green House” is reimagined by Berlin-based producer Daniel Steinberg (Arms & Legs), delivering a raw, swinging deep house cut that captures the gritty energy of the original while enhancing its modern club functionality.
Next up, Underground Kid – “Get Up” receives a rework from Dutch duo Dirty Channels, transforming the 1989 classic into a punchy, piano-driven house groove with strong retro appeal and floor-focused dynamics.
On the B-side, House of Peace – “Such A Feeling” is re-edited by Dennis Quin, delivering a smooth, soulful take that blends classic 90s house aesthetics with crisp contemporary production.
Closing the release, The Barnyard Orchestra – “Tasmanian Blues” is reworked by heavyweight pairing Honey Dijon & Luke Solomon, offering a sophisticated, groove-heavy reinterpretation that channels the spirit of classic Chicago and New York house with a modern edge.
Across all four cuts, Nu Groove Edits Vol. 5 reinforces the label’s enduring influence, connecting its foundational catalogue with today’s global house scene through expertly handled reworks designed for DJs, collectors and deep house enthusiasts.
