Description

Deep house has always been the first love of The Rurals, the long-running project of producer Andy Compton, who has been crafting soulful deep house and downtempo grooves since the 1990s. Released on Peng, Deepest Rurals EP celebrates the unmistakable Rurals sound with four carefully selected tracks, bringing previously digital-only favourites to vinyl for the first time.

Rich in soul, jazz-infused textures and organic instrumentation, this four-track EP captures the timeless spirit of underground deep house. Earth's Warriors opens with gentle, sun-soaked warmth, pairing dreamy chords and drifting melodies with a relaxed, feel-good groove. Believe takes a more hypnotic direction, delivering a languid, late-night atmosphere built for deeper moments in the mix.

On the B-side, Serve Chilled featuring Celestine (Rurals Deep Mix) moves into ultra-deep territory, with rolling rhythms and delay-laden drum-machine fills adding subtle dancefloor drive. Don't Fade Away (Dubby Mix) rounds out the EP with a dubby, atmospheric sound that will appeal to fans of Dubtribe Sound System and Charles Webster's A Love From San Francisco project.

Balancing musical depth with dancefloor functionality, Deepest Rurals E.P is an essential selection for fans of soulful house, jazz-influenced production and warm, understated grooves. With four notable tracks making their vinyl debut, this black 12-inch pressing is equally suited to intimate listening, sunrise sessions and deep, late-night DJ sets.
