Description:

Electronic music mainstays Steve Bug and Stefan Braatz join forces once again on Nu Groove Records with 'Circles EP', a four-track release that bridges classic Chicago house, deep house and acid-driven underground club sounds. Featuring legendary Chicago house pioneers Virgo Four on the title track, this essential 12 inch vinyl EP combines warm, nostalgic grooves with stripped-back percussion, hypnotic machine funk and contemporary dancefloor energy.

The A-side opens with 'Circles', featuring the distinctive vocals of Virgo Four, whose contribution brings a timeless Chicago house spirit to the production. Blending woozy melodies, spoken-word vocals and deep, atmospheric grooves, the original mix delivers a warm and soulful take on underground house music. The accompanying 'Circles (Beat Mix)' strips things back with a tougher, more jacking rhythm, putting the focus firmly on the drums and groove for a more direct, DJ-friendly dancefloor workout.

On the flip, 'Nu Acid' dives into raw acid house territory with squelching machine sounds, driving rhythms and hypnotic club pressure. Closing the EP, 'Thiz Mood' channels the playful energy of late-'80s Chicago house, pairing classic acid flavours with infectious percussion and a distinctly old-school dancefloor feel. Across all four tracks, Steve Bug and Stefan Braatz demonstrate their understanding of house music's foundations while delivering a release that feels fresh, functional and firmly rooted in underground club culture.

Released on the influential New York label Nu Groove Records, 'Circles EP' is a strong addition to the catalogue of a label synonymous with foundational underground house music. Perfect for DJs and collectors searching for deep house vinyl, Chicago house records, jacking rhythms and authentic acid house 12 inch vinyl, this release brings together respected electronic music veterans for four versatile cuts built for the dancefloor.
