Solid Gold Playaz return with a welcome repress of 'Minds Beneath Atlantis E.P', a timeless slice of Deep House and early 2000s House originally released on Silver Network in 2003 before being reissued by Still Music in 2017. Long out of print and highly sought after by collectors, this four-track EP is now available once again for DJs and Deep House heads who missed previous pressings.

Formed by Kenny Gino and Mike T, Solid Gold Playaz have been producing underground House music since 1999, building a catalogue that stretches across labels including Losonofono, Soulfuric Trax, Kanzleramt and their own Solid Gold Records. Their music sits comfortably between Chicago-rooted Deep House and the soulful, machine-driven character associated with Detroit, giving 'Minds Beneath Atlantis' a sound that remains remarkably timeless.

The EP opens with 'Shhh... (Quiet)' featuring vocals by DOT, a beautifully understated piece of deep, late-night House. Warm textures, restrained grooves and soulful vocals combine for the kind of hypnotic deepness that made the record such a favourite among dedicated Deep House vinyl collectors.

'U With Me' continues in equally deep territory, leaning towards a distinctly Detroit House aesthetic with its raw yet soulful production. There's a stripped-back warmth to the track that recalls the kind of machine funk and understated groove associated with producers such as Andrés and Big Strick.

On the flip, 'What Lies Beneath' increases the intensity and pushes further towards the Motor City, blending soulful House sensibilities with the drive of Detroit Techno. Closing track 'Mind Control (State Hustle part II)' completes the EP and reinforces the duo's ability to move naturally between deep, soulful House and tougher electronic grooves.

Following its original 2003 release and sought-after 2017 reissue, copies of 'Minds Beneath Atlantis E.P' became increasingly difficult to find, with second-hand copies regularly commanding prices upwards of £50.
