Description:

GEMS rounds out another stellar year with an essential chapter in the story of underground UK tech-house, bringing together two sought-after releases from producers Pete Hurst and Jiten Acharya. A key part of London's deeper, more sophisticated underground sound during the mid-1990s, the duo recorded primarily at State 51 Studios in Bermondsey and SWAG Studio in Croydon, helping shape the emerging scene with their distinctive blend of deep grooves, rolling percussion and hypnotic atmospheres.

Under their principal collaboration, Sloth & Dormant, Hurst and Acharya delivered a string of understated yet influential tech-house productions. This EP features 'The Light Comes On' and 'Here and Now', originally released on the highly sought-after SUBT002 in 1997. Both tracks capture the stripped-back, forward-thinking aesthetic that helped define London's late-night underground sound.

The flip brings together the original and dub mixes of 'Three Brides', originally released in 1996 under the Three Brides name on Wax Trax Records. Blending deep house sensibilities with the emerging tech-house blueprint, the track pairs rolling rhythms, intricate textures and warm analogue grooves. A prized piece of underground 90s house history, now brought together with two Sloth & Dormant cuts on one 12-inch.

Two sought-after releases, four essential tracks and a chance to own a piece of UK underground dance music history for the price of a single record. A must-have for fans of classic 90s house, minimal and deep tech-house.
