Description:

Renegade Soundwave are one of the most influential and innovative acts to emerge from the UK's late-1980s electronic underground. Blending sound system culture, heavyweight bass, breakbeats, house, industrial textures, punk attitude and dub production, they created a boundary-pushing sound that was years ahead of its time. Now, the RSW legacy returns with Renegade Soundwave Rewired, a heavyweight remix project bringing together an extraordinary line-up of artists to reinterpret the group's pioneering catalogue.

Leading the charge is legendary DJ Carl Cox, whose rework of 'The Phantom' pays tribute to one of his all-time favourite tracks. Originally released in 1989, the classic has remained a fixture in Carl's sets over the years, including his Ibiza performances. His rewire has been road-tested at festivals and during his summer residency at [UNVRS], bringing fresh energy to an iconic piece of UK electronic music history.

This is no ordinary remix album. Each invited artist worked from newly recorded stems created specifically for the project, giving them the freedom to deconstruct, reshape and rebuild the original material while preserving the spirit of Renegade Soundwave. The result is a diverse collection of fresh interpretations spanning rave, breaks, dub, techno, house and bass culture.

Featuring reworks from an impressive cast including Carl Cox, Mr.C, Altern 8, Leeroy Thornhill, Freestylers, Nookie & Binary State, Gaudi & Don Letts, Groucho, Dreadzone, Leftfield, Spatial Awareness and 20/20 Vision, Renegade Soundwave Rewired brings together generations of influential electronic artists to celebrate one of the UK's most forward-thinking acts. A landmark collection presented across red double vinyl in a gatefold sleeve.
