Quartz returns to 1985 Music with his first full solo EP on the label, delivering the stark, immersive world of Cold Voids EP. Following his appearance on the Fragment / 1 VA release in 2024, this marks a significant step forward for the Cardiff-based producer, presenting a tightly focused statement in modern minimal drum & bass.

Across the release, Quartz explores a sound palette defined by tension, atmosphere and precision engineering. “Mute Reflex” opens with unforgiving Reese bass design and sharp, militant percussion, setting a dark and controlled energy reminiscent of high-pressure system clashes.
