Following the strong response to Late Checkout 001, Nevada native Mark Sexton aka M Sexton returns with 'LATE 002', delivering four hazy club excursions that blur the lines between Deep House, UK Garage, Disco House, Jazzy House and sample-heavy Soul. Warm, dusty and effortlessly musical, the second release on Sexton's Late Checkout imprint builds confidently on the after-hours sound of its predecessor.

Described as a boutique label offering "your key for the afterhours", Late Checkout focuses on the tactile, soulful and loved-up end of underground House music. Across LATE 002, Sexton combines swinging drums, deep bass, dusty samples and nostalgic textures, drawing particular influence from late 90s and early 2000s Garage House and UKG.

Opening track 'Give Me A Chance' sets the mood with a rolling, early-morning groove sprinkled with disco guitar. Sitting somewhere between Deep House, Garage House and Disco House, it's a warm and wide-eyed club cut with the loose, soulful character that has quickly become central to the Late Checkout sound.

'Operator Rouge (Dub Mix)' takes a more relaxed approach, pairing swinging drums with a quietly soulful atmosphere. Deep, understated and spacious, it provides a smooth late-night counterpoint to the more energetic material elsewhere on the EP.

On the flip, 'The Weight Of Pearls' explores Sexton's love of deep, sub-heavy turn-of-the-millennium UK Garage and Breaks. Weighty low end meets broken rhythms and hazy electronic textures for a cut that connects classic UK club influences with contemporary Deep House production.

Closing track 'Gotta Have U' brings the record back towards sample-driven House, using nostalgic R&B influences within a colourful, soulful groove. It's a fitting finish to an EP built around warmth, swing and the hazy atmosphere of an after-hours dancefloor.

The Late Checkout series has already picked up support from selectors including Louise Chen and Mafalda, with this second instalment further developing Sexton's distinctive meeting point between US Deep House, soulful sampling and UK Garage-inspired rhythms.
