Description:

Following the success of the Lovehandles Reworks EP, Oswego Music returns with a second volume of sun-soaked reinterpretations, this time from the mysterious Love from the Archipelago – the alias of a renowned European DJ, producer and record digger. A wonderfully eclectic collection moving between Balearic disco, jazz-funk, post-disco and alternative sounds, the EP is tailor-made for both the dancefloor and more laid-back listening sessions.

Opening with 'Endless Ocean', the release reimagines an underrated 80s antipodean track, pairing pulsing synths and wistful vocals with a lightly dubby, Balearic sensibility. 'Carica' takes things towards South America, delivering a hazy, sun-drenched fusion of intricate percussion, vocals and synths, with echoes of mid-80s jazz-funk and the West Coast sound.

On the flip, 'En Route' explores gritty, synth-heavy post-disco experimentation, extended into a chugging, off-kilter groove. 'Grain of Sand' brings a more dreamy, loved-up feel, reworking a folky AOR favourite into a warm slice of Americana that has remained a secret weapon for laid-back DJs. Rounding things off, '1-900-Isla (Skit)' offers a beautiful Balearic interlude, evoking the feeling of a secluded island, good company and the sun setting over the sea.

With support from respected selectors including Harvey, Balearic Mike, Apiento, The Idjut Boys, Kenneth Bager and Phil Mison, this second Oswego Music rework collection is a diverse and essential selection for fans of Balearic disco, leftfield edits and sun-drenched dance music.
