Description:
Panorama Records returns with another beautiful slice of under-the-radar Jamaican reggae — Horace Martin's 'Me Rule', carefully remastered and brought back on 7 inch vinyl for the first time in decades. Born in Kingston, Jamaica, Horace Martin was just 20 years old when he stepped into the legendary Channel One Studio to record this track in 1974, building his name locally through clubs and talent shows across the city while cutting sides in Kingston's vibrant studio scene. 'Me Rule' captures that moment perfectly — youthful confidence over a deep, steady rhythm that has earned its place among the deepest collectors of roots reggae vinyl.
Proper rootsy dancefloor reggae that feels just as good today as it did when it first came out of Kingston — warm, direct and carrying the kind of real musical weight that only comes from records made with genuine conviction. On the flip, things open up with the dubbed-out version of the rhythm titled 'Rule', credited to Prince Huntly. Stripped back and spacious, the dub extends the track into deeper territory — echo, percussion and bass doing all the work in the way only the finest Jamaican dub can.
As always, Panorama Records continues its dedicated search for overlooked gems from across the globe — records with history, character and real musical weight, carefully remastered and brought back to the turntable where they belong. PAN013 is another essential chapter in one of the most quietly important reissue series in underground music.
Perfect for DJs and collectors into reggae vinyl, dub 7 inch records, Jamaican roots reggae, Channel One Studio recordings and the essential Panorama Records reissue catalogue.
