DAYBREAKERS reaches its tenth release with something particularly special: Fred Everything – 'The Lost Tapes 1998-2004'. Unearthed from the Montreal producer's archives, the EP features three previously unheard Deep House tracks recorded between 1998 and 2004 and left untouched for more than two decades. Capturing Fred Everything during a defining period in his career, these lost recordings combine warm musicality, deep grooves and timeless dancefloor craftsmanship.

Fred Everything is one of Deep House's most respected producers, with a catalogue stretching from his influential early releases on 20:20 Vision through to decades of music on Lazy Days Recordings and beyond. Known as a producer's producer and a DJ's DJ, his music has consistently balanced rich musicianship with club functionality, earning him a lasting place within underground house culture.

The story behind 'The Lost Tapes 1998-2004' began in Hackney, where a conversation at the BBE Store about old DAT tapes eventually persuaded Fred to dig through his archives. What emerged were three unreleased recordings from a period when he was establishing himself as one of Deep House's leading voices. Despite their age, these aren't simply nostalgic artefacts – the grooves, production and musical ideas remain remarkably fresh and ready for contemporary dancefloors.

Opening the record is 'Fthing Bounce', a chunky, loose-limbed Deep House workout combining a weighty groove with the smoother, sun-soaked character associated with classic West Coast house. It's stripped back enough to work as a DJ tool while retaining the musical detail and swing that defines Fred Everything's productions.

On the flip, 'In The City' takes things in a warmer and breezier direction, pairing breakbeat-house rhythms with rich electric piano and an effortlessly flowing groove. Closing track 'The Clock On The Wall' heads deeper still, delivering a beautiful, picturesque piece of Jazzy House informed by the musical Deep House sound associated with Atjazz and the era in which it was originally recorded.

The release also continues the crate-digging ethos behind DAYBREAKERS. Since launching the label, Miche has brought lost recordings and buried underground house gems from artists including Nathaniel X, Rainer Trüby, Vick Lavender and Stacy Kidd back into circulation. For DBR010, that same archival approach uncovers three genuine Fred Everything rarities, finally pressed to vinyl more than twenty years after they were made.
