Luca 'DJ Rocca' Roccatagliati is a true shapeshifter of sound, with a career spanning decades of underground club music and a catalogue that effortlessly moves between cosmic disco, Italo, leftfield house and electro. Emerging in the late 1990s under the Maffia Soundsystem alias, Rocca has continually bent genres and reconfigured the DNA of dance music, collaborating with artists including Howie B, Dimitri From Paris, Daniele Baldelli, François K, Jazzanova and Zed Bias.

His extensive catalogue includes releases for some of the most respected labels in electronic music, including Rekids, Toy Tonics, International Feel, Defected, Rush Hour, Hell Yeah and Rotters Golf Club. Alongside his solo work, Rocca has explored multiple sides of his sound through projects including Ajello, Supersonic Lovers, Crimea X and Erodiscotique with Dimitri From Paris, while his collaborations with Daniele Baldelli have ventured into deeper and more psychedelic territory.

Now DJ Rocca arrives on Sosilly Records with the previously unreleased three-track EP 'Tonight Is The Night'. The A-side opens with 'Sun Deck', a collaboration with Athens mainstay Lex that drifts somewhere between yacht funk, late-night boogie and sophisticated Italo disco. Sun-washed grooves, crisp synth leads, subtle guitar-style stabs and just enough 80s energy give the track an effortlessly cool, Balearic-leaning feel.

On the B-side, 'Italo Boogie Stomp' does exactly what the title promises, combining rolling Linn drums, sharp analogue synth lines and a nostalgic flute motif that nods towards NYC street soul while remaining firmly rooted in modern dancefloor territory. 'Ferroso' then picks up the pace, bringing deep house drums together with a driving electro bassline, arpeggiated synths and warm pads for a focused, functional club cut.

Across the three tracks, 'Tonight Is The Night' charts a gradual move from laid-back boogie and yacht funk towards a more machine-driven sound, with the beats becoming straighter, harder and more locked-in as the record progresses.
