Description

Italian DJ and producer Da Lukas celebrates a decade of dancefloor favourites with Get Back, an eight-track album on Groove Culture that blends vintage disco nostalgia with contemporary house production. Packed with sample-rich arrangements, infectious funk, soulful vocals and uplifting disco grooves, the double LP showcases his signature sound across disco, boogie, funk and peak-time house.

The album features two fresh additions alongside highlights from Da Lukas' catalogue. The title track, “Get Back”, is a driving nu-disco anthem featuring legendary dance vocalist Amanda Wilson, while his powerful take on the James Brown-penned Lyn Collins classic “Take Me Just As I Am” features the brilliant vocals of Fatimah Provillon.

Elsewhere, “Drop The Funk” delivers heavy, Clavinet-led funk-house, “Sicily Theme” brings swirling strings and disco-house energy, and “VIVA!” adds a dose of Latin disco-funk. With soulful house flavours on “Stand Up” and further vocal contributions from Gabrielle on “What Would We Do”, Get Back is a varied collection built for DJs and disco lovers alike.

Already backed by an impressive list of selectors, including Carl Cox, David Morales, DJ Harvey, Danny Krivit, Folamour, Mark Knight, Riva Starr, Dr Packer and Young Pulse, this double LP is a strong addition to any disco, nu-disco or funky house collection.
