Description:
London producer Danny Kane joins the ranks of Razor-N-Tape 45 with a pair of seriously tasty disco heaters under his D'Swing moniker. 'Early Tapes EP' digs into the archives of his 1990s street soul and UK Garage project, bringing two long-lost recordings back to life from the original masters and transforming them into sparkling modern disco cuts while preserving their authentic vintage character.
'Dream It' and 'Searching' are two summery floor fillers packed with snappy drums, dexterous live instrumentation and soulful vocals. The production strikes a perfect balance between vintage disco warmth and contemporary dancefloor energy, with rich instrumentation, strings, handclaps and harmonised vocals giving the record an unmistakably 70s-inspired disco feel.
Danny Kane has spent the last 15 years working with artists including Robert Owens, Sonny Fodera and Natasha Kitty Katt, but this release looks back to a much earlier chapter in his career. Originally recorded during his D'Swing period in the 90s, these recordings have been lovingly reworked for Razor-N-Tape 45, with vocal duties handled by Lorna Harris, known for her work with Goldie and Nomad.
The result is a beautiful meeting point between street soul, UK Garage, funk and disco, with the warmth and musicianship of the original recordings shining through. Pressed as a dinked 7 inch vinyl, this is an essential little record for DJs and collectors who like their disco soulful, authentic and packed with live instrumentation.
Perfect for DJs and collectors into disco vinyl, 7 inch soul records, funk, nu disco, street soul and the essential Razor-N-Tape catalogue.
