Description:

Moonworks returns with its fourth release, unearthing a sought-after slice of UK House history with Big Surge – Project A / Project AA. Originally produced in a small North London studio by Paul Kelly, Andrew Grimwood and John Viney in 1995, this underground rarity has become a secret weapon for discerning DJs, with original copies increasingly difficult to find. Now officially reissued with refreshed artwork and remastered audio developed in collaboration with the original artists, this cult 12-inch gets a welcome return to circulation.

'Project A' leads with a rolling, bass-heavy Progressive House groove, combining lush synth pads, chopped vocal snippets and a hypnotic sense of movement that captures the playful spirit of London's mid-90s underground. Kyiv-born producer Nizar Sarakbi brings a fresh perspective with his new edit, stripping the original back into a leaner, more linear groove tailored for contemporary dancefloors while preserving its distinctive character.

On the flip, 'Project AA' raises the energy with rumbling low-end, catchy vocoder hooks and euphoric piano riffs, delivering a timeless House workout with plenty of peak-time appeal. Balancing nostalgic 90s flavours with a sound that still feels relevant today, the release moves effortlessly between progressive grooves, minimal touches and classic club energy.

With support from respected selectors including Raresh, Ben UFO, Alex Kassian, Chris Stussy, Dr. Banana, Carista and Enzo Siragusa, Project A / Project AA is a compelling addition for DJs and collectors seeking rediscovered UK House gems with genuine underground pedigree.
