Description:

Ari Bald & CJ Scott return on Snatch Raw with the Dart 2 Da Heart EP, a four-track 12 Inch Vinyl release drawing on the duo's love of Chicago Disco House, funk, soul, jazz and classic disco. Produced and mixed at Sätra Studios in the southern suburbs of Stockholm, the EP filters the bump-and-swerve energy associated with DJ Sneak through a distinctly Scandinavian approach.

The Stockholm-based duo have developed a sound built around a deep love of digging through jazz, funk, soul, disco and cinema, capturing a nostalgic late-'90s and early-'00s feel while keeping the production raw, direct and contemporary. Dart 2 Da Heart EP showcases their playful use of samples, cut-up disco loops, basslines and textured beats, with the entire record made for a mobile-free dancefloor.

Opening with Disko Monster, Ari Bald & CJ Scott deliver a potent, sample-heavy Disco House cut with a dusty Swedish twist and a clear nod to the sound of Sound Stream. Soul Patch Seb follows with a deeper, lightly dubbed-out and filter-rich blend of Disco House and Jazz House, balancing warm samples with a rolling groove.

On the B-side, Rotmos Latino raises the tempo with heavier percussion, increased intensity and serious bass weight, landing somewhere between Future Disco, Techno and high-energy House. Closing track Husky High brings things back into chunky Disco House territory, built around diva vocals, thick grooves and deep dancefloor energy.

With Snatch Raw releases rarely making it to vinyl, this collaboration from Ari Bald & CJ Scott is a strong pick for DJs and collectors looking for raw, sample-driven Disco House, Nu Disco, Funky House and Jackin’ House with a late-'90s and early-'00s flavour.
