Description

Adam Freeland returns with Twister, the EP marking the relaunch of his influential Marine Parade label and his first solo material since 2007. Blending leftfield techno, electronica, breakbeat and psychedelic influences, the release signals a new chapter for one of the key names in underground electronic music.

The title track, “Twister”, draws on Freeland’s love of psych rock and drone, combining raw bass, polyrhythmic grooves and cavernous dub hits. Its hypnotic, drone-driven progression builds towards a cinematic guitar finish, delivering a powerful fusion of broken rhythms and experimental electronic textures.

On the flip, “Kiligurl” explores pulsing drones, broken beats and spring reverb, creating an organic, dub-inflected atmosphere. Together, the two tracks showcase Freeland’s distinctive approach to leftfield club music, moving between immersive sound design and dancefloor-focused rhythms.

Following Transhuman, his collaboration with Spooky’s Duncan Forbes, Twister continues the return of Marine Parade, the label that helped define the edgier side of breakbeat during the 2000s. After closing in 2009, Marine Parade re-emerges with a release shaped by Freeland’s years living off-grid in California’s Mojave Desert and his work with The Acid alongside Ry X.
