Description:

Adam Freeland relaunches the legendary Marine Parade label with the 'Transhuman EP', a collaboration with Spooky's Duncan Forbes and the first new release on the influential imprint in over 15 years. The EP also marks the beginning of a new chapter for Marine Parade, with further releases from Freeland scheduled throughout 2026 and new material from longtime label friends and a fresh generation of artists set to follow.

Across the three tracks, 'Transhuman' explores a deeper and more atmospheric side of Freeland's sound. Broken rhythms sit subtly beneath spacious arrangements, while flickering synths, sci-fi-infused vocals and static-charged textures create an immersive, cinematic atmosphere. Drawing on Freeland's longstanding love of dub, techno and breakbeat, the EP feels both rooted in the history of Marine Parade and distinctly forward-looking.

The title track 'Transhuman' reconnects with the label's late 90s and early 2000s breakbeat roots, combining broken beats with a cosmic, spacious attitude. 'Stop Fighting' slows things down further, built around a pulsing dub techno heartbeat and atmospheric textures, while 'S.P.A.C.E' takes the EP into mesmerising sunrise territory with a slow-burning, progressive feel. Three very different but beautifully measured and considered tracks that showcase the label's original free-spirited character.

Adam Freeland is best known for his seminal 'Coastal Breaks' mix album and acclaimed releases, remixes and compilations for FabricLive, Global Underground and Back To Mine. After spending a decade living off-grid in California's Mojave Desert and forming The Acid with Ry X, 'Transhuman' marks his return to solo material after sixteen years.

Joining him is Duncan Forbes, one half of pioneering UK duo Spooky, whose landmark releases on Guerilla Records and debut album 'Gargantuan' helped define the early ambient techno and progressive house movements. With further collaborations involving Mr. G and Sasha, plus solo releases via Fuse London and his own 49North imprint, Forbes brings decades of underground experience to this meeting of minds.

The return of Marine Parade is a significant moment for fans of forward-thinking electronic music, and the 'Transhuman EP' is a fitting first statement for the label's new era. Essential listening for anyone into breakbeat vinyl, dub techno, melodic techno, progressive electronic music and the distinctive sound of the Marine Parade catalogue.

Perfect for DJs and collectors looking for techno 12 inch vinyl, breakbeat records, dub techno, progressive house and atmospheric electronic music with a genuine underground pedigree.
